This educational event will feature guest speakers CSULB Shark Lab Director Chris Lowe and Long Beach Marine Safety Chief Gonzalo Medina. A brief Q/A will follow the presentations along with an opportunity to tour the widely renowned CSULB Shark Lab!

Please join Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell, Chair of the Assembly Education Committee, Assemblymember Kevin McCarty, Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee on Education Finance, Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva, and Assemblymember Autumn Burke, Chair of the Assembly Select Committee on Career Technical Education, for an informational hearing on The Future of K-12 Career Technical Education (CTE) in California. CTE prepares students for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies, and makes academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context. In this way students develop career-relevant, real-world 21st Century skills.
