O’Donnell & Umberg recognized team members & coaches at the Capitol
(Sacramento) – Yesterday, Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D – Long Beach) and Senator Tom Umberg (D – Santa Ana) presented a resolution in the State Assembly and Senate congratulating the California State University, Long Beach (CSU Long Beach) men’s volleyball team on their 2019 NCAA championship victory.
“Today we stand next to champions on and off the court,” said Assemblymember O’Donnell, Chair of the Assembly Education Committee. “These individuals make Long Beach proud, our CSU system proud and they make California proud. They are champions and I wish them continued success.”
CSU Long Beach emerged victorious over the University of Hawaii last month in the final round of the NCAA’s volleyball championships at Long Beach. Following their 2018 championship victory, they became the first program at the university to win back-to-back NCAA National Championships.
Assemblymember O’Donnell is a proud alumnus of CSU Long Beach, graduating with a degree in History and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
