Businesses should be able to open if they have limited capacity, require masks and enforce social distancing
(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D - Long Beach) called for the Governor and local county health departments to allow small retail businesses to open if they can enforce safety measures.
“Big box stores and supermarkets should not be the only places allowed open during this time,” said Assemblymember O’Donnell. “We need to allow small businesses and local retail to resume limited operations if they can follow health guidelines. Opening up with the proper protocols in place helps our economy and small businesses, and gets people back to work safely.”
Numerous counties moved into Stage 2 under the Governor’s modified shelter-in-place order. Los Angeles County remains in Stage 1 with many businesses remaining shuttered and closed.
Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell represents the 70th Assembly District, which includes Long Beach, Signal Hill, San Pedro and Catalina Island.
