(SACRAMENTO) – Assembly Bill 2932, authored by Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D – Long Beach), passed the Assembly unanimously. AB 2932 expedites sidewalk construction in the City of Long Beach and makes other infrastructure improvements for city residents.

“This bill removes unnecessary delays for shovel ready projects,” Assemblymember O’Donnell said. “Thank you to the City of Long Beach for partnering with me to ensure our city infrastructure is safe and accessible for all.”

AB 2932 will allow the city to issue contracts for sidewalk construction projects that incorporates both the design and construction processes all in one-step. The streamlined process for bidding and awarding these contracts will expedite the upgrade of sidewalks and curbs.

The bill now goes to the Senate.
