Tuesday, March 13, 2018

(Long Beach) – Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D–Long Beach) hosted “Shark Day” at CSU Long Beach, which featured a special presentation on shark awareness and safety from CSULB Shark Lab Director Chris Lowe. Assemblymember O’Donnell highlighted Assembly Bill 2191, his bill to provide grant funding for research of the increasing numbers of sharks along the California coast, as well as protection efforts for sharks and beachgoers. “As a parent, my priority is the safety of our kids,” Assemblymember O’Donnell said. “This bill is about learning why there are more sharks and how to deal with the increase, so we can keep our kids safe at the beach.” Check out this Assembly Access video for more on Shark Day at CSULB and AB 2191.
